Beta Analytic’s Photo Contest Exclusive to Chinese Researchers

Beta Analytic invites all China-based researchers to join its 6th photo contest focused on the country’s natural landscapes and historical sites. Participation in previous years’ contests were limited to geologists. This year, the photo contest is open to all geologists and archaeologists. Prizes include camping gazebos, pop-up tents and other camping gear.

Participants may submit:

  • Scenery Photos 
    Original photos of natural landscapes such as mountains, desert, sea, river and lakes
    Requirement: 5-10 photos, JPG/PNG, file size ≤10MB

  • Geology or archaeology-related photos
    Original photos of geological phenomena, minerals, historical sites/cultural relics/museums, etc.
    Requirement: 5-10 photos, JPG/PNG, file size ≤10MB

  • Short videos
    Original videos related to the work, study and recreation of geologists and archaeologists
    Requirement: 15-60 seconds, MP4, file size ≤500MB

    All participants are also required to submit a personal introduction (~100 words) and their photo.

How to Join

Email your photos/videos to zhang@betalabservices.com with subject in this format: Your Name + Institute/University Name + Submitted Material (photo or video). 

Deadline of submission is on August 31, 2022.

Selecting Winners

Winners will be selected based on number of views and likes of the submissions as posted in Beta Analytic’s WeChat account. For details, please read our WeChat post.

Announcement of winners will be on September 21, 2022.

Beta Analytic launched its first photo contest for China-based researchers in 2017.  Past winners include Dr. Shi Pilong of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) who won first place in 2017 and 2018, Mr. Menghan Qiu of Lanzhou University (2019 winner), and Cong Lu of Chinese Academy of Sciences Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes in 2021.
